WHAT IS “YES”

Primary Goal

100% Engagement

Our prayer is that every person who calls Mission City Church home would grow in their relationship with Christ as He calls us to new levels of surrender, faith, and generosity.

Secondary Goal

$18 Million Over 2 Years

God wants to do abundantly more than we could ask, think, or imagine. We are trusting Him to move through His people to invest $18 million over the next two years to accomplish the vision He has given us. During this season, every gift given to Mission City Church will go to the YES initiative as we say:

YES. to our Ministry:
$9 MILLION

To fund our ministry operating budget as we invest in the ongoing ministries and continue to see transformed lives through what God is already doing.

YES. to the Next Generation:
$1.6 MILLION

To invest in the next generation by making vital improvements to Kids facilities and expanding the student facilities to allow for more growth and discipleship.

YES. to our Communities:
$6.9 MILLION

To reach more communities and families by adding a third campus and paying down the remaining debt from current locations for additional resources for ministry.

YES. to the World:
$500,000

To expand our reach by increasing our commitment to current church plants, investing in future church plants, and providing more resources to global mission partners.

VISION BOOKLET

YES is a one-fund initiative, meaning that all of our regular giving and all of our special giving over the next two years will be combined into one unified fund. Every gift that is given to Mission City Church will go to the four key components of YES.

We believe that it’s all one mission — to engage people where they are with the gospel of Jesus Christ and lead them into lives of transformation. So as a church, for the next season, it’s going to be ONE fund to which we give generously at Mission City.

We’ve included a sample commitment card so you can begin to pray about your engagement in God’s vision for our church through the YES initiative. Please spend some time with the Lord and follow His leading as you wrestle with how He desires to grow your generosity. We will provide you with a new hard copy on Commitment Sunday, April 2.

 FAQs

  • During this two-year period, every contribution to God through Mission City Church is a contribution to our YES initiative. This means that everything from our general ministry budget, scholarships, local and global missions, and even campus expansion will be fueled through the YES initiative.

  • First and foremost, we are asking that you pray and seek God’s leading on what He is asking of you. Prepare your heart to hear Him, and then listen to what He says.

Spend time in personal reflection as you walk through this YES Book. Use the sermon notes and discussion guide to dig in deeper with your family, friends, or LifeGroup. Pray through what this commitment will mean for this next exciting season of your life. We are asking that you make a generosity commitment to stretch your faith like never before. Our prayer is that you would give in a way that changes you.

Finally, we ask that you prepare to be amazed. We serve a big God who does big things, and He is going to move in extraordinary ways as we anticipate how He is going to use our collective YES commitments. Plan to be here for every week of the YES series beginning February 26 and pray about returning your commitment card on Sunday, April 2.

  • Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give toward the YES initiative. You might have some stocks, property, or other stored resources that God has blessed you with and might be calling you to give from during this time. Please let us know if you need assistance with facilitating gifts of property or stock, and we would be happy to help you with that. You can send an email to yes@missioncity.church to make a gift of this type.

  • We are asking everyone to make a two-year commitment to YES.

Your fulfillment of that commitment will begin in April of 2023 and it will culminate two years later in April of 2025.

  • If you are someone currently seeking to make payments to pay off debt right now, we commend you for your progress on this important goal. And you should continue to do so. We would be happy to help you find resources to assist you in this journey.

Keep in mind that giving isn’t about what God wants from you but rather what He wants for you. The primary goal of the YES initiative is for each of us to grow in our relationship with Christ as He calls us to new levels of surrender, faith, and generosity.

Ask God what that means for you and look for creative ways that you can sacrifice to participate in YES.

  • First, we want to say that we are glad you’re here! We believe God wants to do something in and through each of us as we step into this next season of YES together. We would love to connect with you and help you find your spot at Mission City Church. Stop by Next Steps on Sunday after the worship service. This is going to be an exciting time at Mission City Church!

  • Great question. People take different spiritual steps at different times. Giving is another spiritual discipline that comes at different times for different people. One thing is for sure - just like other spiritual disciplines, giving draws us closer to God. And God is calling ALL of us to give. The Bible says: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:21). Whether you have taken the spiritual step of baptism or whether you haven’t yet, we would encourage you to still join us in this YES initiative. We believe that it will draw you closer to God and hopefully to a place where you are ready to make the decision to be baptized.

  • No, YES is a generosity initiative that will enable us to fulfill the vision God has given us to engage people where they are with the gospel of Jesus Christ and lead them into lives of transformation. Of course generosity includes money, but it’s much more than that. Our prayer is that every person who calls Mission City Church home would grow in their relationship with Christ as He calls us to new levels of surrender, faith, and generosity. YES is not just about money, but discipleship always includes how we manage what God has entrusted to us. We pray that each of us will give in such a way that places Chris as first in our hearts and lives.

  • There are several ways to give. Text MISSIONCITY to 77977 and you will receive instructions on how to give or visit missioncity.church and click on Giving. Drop any cash or checks in the giving boxes located in the Commons outside the Worship Center.
